ATI sustains commitment to protect La Mesa Watershed

Listed Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI) and its dockworkers planted nearly 1,000 trees at the La Mesa Watershed over the weekend, sustaining its commitment to protect and preserve Metro Manila’s last natural forest cover and source of potable water.

Coinciding with the GO GREEN global environmental campaign of its foreign equity partner and global trade enabler DP World, ATI’s employee-volunteers planted endemic tree saplings across a two-hectare area of the forest reserve in Novaliches, Quezon City.

ATI’s institutional tree planting initiative, which forms part of its dynamic Corporate Sustainability Program, helps revitalize La Mesa’s critical ecosystem which is responsible for protecting the water reservoir supplying water to Metro Manila’s nearly 13 million residents.

The activity also gives employees the opportunity to be in commune with nature and take an active role in protecting the environment.

To date, ATI has protected over 24 hectares of La Mesa Watershed, planting over 26,000 trees since the start of its institutional partnership with ABS-CBN’s Bantay Kalikasan (Nature Watch) in 2001.
